My Story

G'day, I'm Phil.

If you have been in a situation where you find yourself waiting for that load to get you home, chances are you think of things you could be doing at home, or to the truck, or time that could be spent with people at home (some of you blokes at truck stops are O.K. but my wife is a bit easier on the eyes). I have, and I know many others that find themselves in the same situation.

With low profits most times you cannot afford to run home empty and unfortunately you find yourself in the situation where you are spending money on phone calls and food, giving even less profits.

Sometimes you may have bookwork to do or a book or D.V.D. to keep you occupied or maybe you can do limited maintenance on your truck, but it just doesn’t make up for not being homeward bound.

After enquiring about freight for a couple of days, 'Murphy’s Law’ usually occurs when you contact a transport company you had not tried before and they often say "If only you had given me a call yesterday, I had trouble finding a truck for a load." Doesn’t that make you feel frustrated and annoyed??!!

Well, one day in early 2004 I started thinking how can we look for freight more efficiently? I thought of the possibility of a "real time" database such as this one because I have been around long enough to know that if things don't change things stay the same. However, for about 6 months I tossed it about, as I believed the answer was so obvious but why wasn’t it being done already? After all, operators/drivers are frustrated about not "keeping the wheels rolling" and as "Transport Companies", they hate spending time answering the phone all day regarding enquiries about freight available (and we, the operator/driver do not particularly like to annoy them).

Calling a loading agent gives you a great scope on what loads are available, however, obviously there are many they do not have access to and thus doing a "call around" to see if you can find anything else becomes attractive. Even though you know the phone bills are going to be coming in!

Obviously the other great thing about this is that "Transport Companies" will save time that they may otherwise have spent on the phone 'searching for that truck’ by using this site.

After a time of thinking about what I wanted from a system and how it would work to achieve the outcome that I wanted to achieve I set about having this system put together.

It has been a long road to have the tool that I had hoped for! Whilst I am happy with this product, I am pleased to inform you that we are continually looking at implementing other technology to simplify the process even more in the future.

So basically, that’s where I am coming from and that is a quick background to the conception of this database.

So, whether you are a "Transport Company" or an "Owner Operator", I invite you to have a look around the Website and see if this could be of use to you!

I would hope this gives all concerned more money in our pockets, more time to do other things and less stress.

Cheers for now’ Phil.
